Data Definitions Library

A working library for the words and measures AKG relies on. Each definition should explain the business meaning, the reporting logic, the owner, and the review status.

Core definition register

Starter structure only. Replace the example rows below with approved AKG definitions as they are agreed.

Term Business definition Data logic Owner Status
Participant A person receiving support through an AKG service or contract. Unique participant record in the source case management system. Operations / BI Draft
Work Pathway A session a participant can attend as part of their support journey. Session records classified as Work Pathway activity in the reporting model. Operations / BI Draft
Attended appointment An appointment where the participant attended and the interaction was completed. Appointment status equals completed, with agreed appointment types included. Operations / BI Draft
Job Outcome A payable outcome reached when the participant meets the relevant earnings threshold. Outcome confirmed through the agreed earnings and payment logic. Finance / BI Draft

What each entry needs

Plain English meaning, calculation rule, source field, accountable owner, review date and status.

What it protects

Different teams counting the same concept in different ways, especially across dashboards, finance checks and operational reviews.

How it should be used

Before a dashboard is built, the key terms should be checked against this library and any gaps resolved.

Decision Test: every definition should support a real decision. If nobody can explain how the definition changes interpretation or action, it probably is not ready to become a measure.
